1. My chocolate fountain calls for vegetable oil. Could you use olive oil instead and do you need to use as much as they call for?
2. I want to use dark chocolate. Where is a good place to buy that in bulk for the machine (you need 8 to 13 cups)? Trader Joes, Costco, Whole Foods?
3. What is the best to dip in chocolate and where is the best place to buy it?
Thanks for your help,
Chrissy
Hi Chrissy,
I don't have a fountain, but from what I've read in the past, I would avoid using oil if you could. I believe it will change the taste of the chocolate...
I recommend calling a chocolate fountain rental company to ask about recommendations on which brands of chocolate they use/recommend, as opposed to using regular store bought chocolate or chocolate chips. Maybe you can get a chocolate recommendation that will let you use no oil, or even just a bit of oil or shortening. I believe that dark chocolate thins out better than milk chocolate, so dark chocolate is a good start! Smart and Final might be a good source too, but I am not positive about that.
Now ... My favorite dippers!!!
Mini Cream Puffs, Nila Wafers, Strawberries, Banana Pieces, Marshmallows, Mini Pretzels, and last but not least
Bite Size Rice Krispy Treats! The kids will love those!
Have lots of napkins or small plates on hand to catch drips!
Happy Birthday to Nina!!! :-)
